class=\"porto-u-sub-heading\" style=\"\"><p>The Department of Theater opened in 1985 under the Faculty of Arts, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta. The Department of Theatre opens a Dramaturgy study program that focuses on the realm of theatrical science which is the main support for theatrical works. The courses offered aim to develop knowledge in the field of theater which includes dramaturgy, literary knowledge, cultural studies, and theater creation. In 2000 the study program was developed into the Theatre Arts Study Program by opening the main interest in acting which was then followed by other interests, namely writing, directing, and artistic arrangement.
