The Father of National Education, Ki Hajar Dewantara, once said that art is the result of beauty, which can move beautiful feelings for those who see it. By enjoying art, one's soul will return to balance, because art is like an oasis for a soul that thirsts for calm.
Art can take many forms, depending on the medium used to express it. Through these various media, positive messages can be conveyed creatively and continuously.
This thought is what underlies the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to establish cooperation with Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI), through the signing of an MOU on Tuesday (29/8) in Yogyakarta. Through this MOU, KPK and ISI will work together in the form of anti-corruption education, studies and research, anti-corruption socialization and campaigns, and other programs that have been agreed upon. This is a continuation of the cooperation that has previously been established, through the production of audio-visual products aired on KPK media.
Deputy Chairman of KPK, Saut Situmorang, in his speech said, "How can we direct art to build people with integrity, that's a challenge for us. Because art can also be a means of reminding citizens and the government if irregularities occur." Saut also added that from now on, it is expected that there will be monthly, annual and five-year art agendas to produce creative anti-corruption art and cultural products.
Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Agus Burhan, expressed his appreciation for this collaboration, which he sees as an opportunity to contribute to corruption prevention. According to Agus, ISI currently has many study programs that can be utilized to produce anti-corruption art and cultural products. But on the other hand, ISI also sees the need for education and strengthening of national and professional character, in special courses that can be filled by the KPK.
The signing of the MOU was also attended by the Director of Inter-Commission and Agency Network Development (PJKAKI) and the KPK Public Relations Bureau, who participated in anti-corruption discussions, screening and final product making at ISI's Faculty of Recording Media Arts. Through this series of activities, KPK hopes that ISI students can then produce creative products with anti-corruption themes, which will be aired on the KPK TV and Radio Channel on an ongoing basis.
